Browns Select Linebacker Carson Schwesinger with 33rd Overall Pick
Not many saw a linebacker coming this early but here we are.

The Browns brought another surprise on the second day of the NFL Draft as they went with linebacker Carson Schwesinger out of UCLA with the 33rd overall selection. Not many saw another defensive selection coming, especially at linebacker to lead off the Browns second day but they love the coverage skills Schwesinger brings to the table and his production during his Senior year with the Bruins is undeniable.
He didn’t run a 40-yard dash but he tested plenty well in other facets of the lead up and he brings quality size as well.
His story is an interesting one as the journey is not one many coveted in the draft get to travel. He was a zero star recruit out of Oaks Christian High School as he traveled through a transfer and then the pandemic-shortened season. The lone offer he received was a partial scholarship from FCS Bucknell but was fortunate enough to catch the attention of Chip Kelly and UCLA when they traveled his way to scout a teammate. The Bruins offered Schwesinger a walk-on role and he accepted.
