Deep Dive Mock Draft 2.0: Early-April Edition
Edition 2.0 with more scouting notes, film, and thoughts as the draft nears.
We’re getting so close to the 2025 NFL Draft, folks. So close you’re probably tired of talking about the prospects. Logging into different chat forums and Twitter threads and all of the noise that can wear you down on who you believe in and who you believe the Browns will take. It’s the nauseating part of the process where heels are dug into the ground and neither side will relent on “their guys” in the draft. We hate it, but we love it because it means we’re just a fun weeks away.
The tape has been consumed, nearly all of it to this point, and almost all Pro Day and RAS data has been input into the systems. We’re going off preferences for the Browns and also off my own evaluations of players I think will fit exactly what this team needs to compete at a higher level in 2025.
Before we get started, though, I want to remind you how I do these deep dives. I don’t like ignoring simulators because then I am just picking whoever I want in perceived slots but I also don’t want to be held down by those same simulators when I can’t always make trades or react in real-time the way I would like. So, my working process here is using one of these websites (we use PFN today) and then slot up to five picks before the pick I am making to grab a prospect. It keeps ranges fair but also lets me share with you who fits best inside that range.
We don’t move move out of the second overall pick today but we have some trades coming later — nothing too crazy. Let’s pour a brew and do some drafting. Join me.
