FILM ROOM: Details Behind Jameis Winston Trying That Look-Away Pass That Could Have Worked

During the Browns opening possession Sunday, Jameis Winston was crushed for "throwing it right to a Ravens' defensive back" near the goal line but there are some fun details here worth studying.

As the Browns marched down the field on their first possession, Ken Dorsey called a bootleg down at the Ravens 13-yard line. The run-action had the defense fooled and plenty of time for the quarterback. The result of the play looked like Jameis Winston threw it right to the defensive back for what should have been an interception.

When you dig into the details, though, you can see how this scheme needs polished in practice, but also why Winston made the decision he made. It was high risk, and needs refined with Elijah Moore somewhere other than live game-action first, but he was doing something unique and worth your time understanding.
