Ideal Selections for the Browns' First Four Picks
Pinpointing who fits in these pivotal early selections.
Predicting the NFL Draft is about as difficult as predicting the inevitable twist of an M. Night Shyamalan movie. However, we can use trends, data points, positional value, and other metrics used by General Manager Andrew Berry in prior drafts in order to attempt to pinpoint which prospects the Browns may target in a couple of days.
The positional needs are well-known and apparent, with quarterback, wide receiver, running back and offensive tackle sitting atop the totem pole. However, drafting solely based on need can force selection of a lesser football player. Meshing need and “best player available” is my favorite draft strategy and the one I will use for this exercise. For our purposes, the Big Board rankings correspond to the 2025 Consensus Big Board, as compiled by Arif Hasan of Wide Left Football.
Round 1, Pick 2 Overall: Travis Hunter, WR/CB (Colorado)
Big Board Ranking: 1
Position Ranking: 1
Hunter isn’t just a two-way phenom — he’s a football unicorn. His rare ability to play at a high level on both sides of the ball makes him the most intriguing and versatile prospect in this year’s draft. On offense, he’s electric. A dynamic route-runner with natural hands and the explosiveness to turn short throws into chunk plays. This is where I believe, and Andrew Berry has previously stated, will be the main position of focus for Hunter. However, when utilized in the defensive backfield, Hunter will bring an instinctive playmaker mentality with elite ball skills to boot (15 pass breakups and a 56 percent deserved catch percentage allowed in 2024).
For a Browns team looking to add playmakers and elevate their ceiling, Hunter offers immediate impact and long-term upside. In a league built on mismatches and versatility, Hunter is a cheat code.
