Thanks for this, Andrew. I’m also an Ohio transplant in western NC and have been here most of my life and it’s been really difficult seeing so much damage and destruction at home. I was lucky to get my power back on Sunday afternoon— my brother who lives in the next town over still doesn’t have his as I write. But we had him and his girlfriend stay Sunday night and watched the game together, which we don’t usually do even though he’s only 20 minutes away. And it was nice to connect with him that way, like when we were kids still at home with our parents. The hurricane was absolutely devastating but if there’s a silver lining it’s that these situations bring us together and reminds us of how important those connections are. Glad to hear you’re safe and sound!

Awesome stuff Andrew. The Browns always bring me closer to my dad, he's 70 too, I just think that is why it means so much more to us browns fans. No matter where we are in life we get together or at least talk on the phone Sundays during football season. Absolutely loved this piece and glad you all are doing well.

Great read! Relieved you made it through. These storms have become so dangerous. Glad you’re safe. Your article really puts things in perspective. Football is a fun distraction (sometimes), but in the end - there are so many more important things and people in our lives.

Glad you and yours are all right. I’ve got a lot of customers and friends up there. So far it seems everybody made it out OK but it’s a long road back to normal. So many of my favorite spots in Biltmore Village just erased from the map. Just surreal. Now that 40 is open I may see if people I know need groceries or anything, fill my SUV and drive up this weekend.

Praying for you all in the area. Let's get a Brown's win on Sunday to make everyone happier.

Thanks for the update Andrew. So happy you’re all safe. I became a Browns fan because of my Dad. As frustrated as I get, I continue to watch so he and I can talk after the games. Stay well and looking forward to hearing your voice on the pod again soon!

Very glad to hear you’re doing ok. In the words of Lionel Hutz: “I don’t use the word ‘hero’ very often, but you are the greatest hero in American history.”

Glad you're hanging in Andrew.

WoW! unbelievable -- I hadn't even thought about that. I'm old enough to remember Katrina and all the coverage and money thrown at it. Helene doesn't even get talked about, like it's all gone and over.

Glad to hear that you and the dad are pulling through…. Both with the natural disaster AND your Browns fandom. ❤️
