Power Ranking The Browns For Week 2
Let's rank the five most important people as the Browns head to Florida
Did Week 1 really even happen? Are we sure the Browns are 0-1? Can we go back to the bliss of that Sunday morning, when fall temperatures rustled through the leaves and we kicked back to watch the early slate of Week 1 games without a care in the world, unaware of the terror that awaited us at 4:25 pm?
Unfortunately, I’m being told we cannot. We must trudge on to watch the Cleveland Browns take on the Jacksonville Jaguars as they try to avoid starting 0-2 for the first time in the Kevin Stefanski era. In order to do that, some of the most important players on the Browns need to show up. And in that spirit, we’ll be power ranking the five most important members of the Browns’ organization each week headed into the weekend’s game.
Jordan Akins
As if the Week 1 loss to the Cowboys wasn’t dire enough, the Browns lost arguably their best offensive weapon in David Njoku to an ankle injury. For an offense that made moving the football look harder than pushing a boulder uphill, being down the guy Deshaun Watson might trust the most feels…ominous. Enter backup tight end Jordan Akins, who caught three balls for 27 yards against the Cowboys. You’re up, pal! Time for you to take on the TE1 role on the road, against a good defense, in that classic Florida September heat — luckily Akins has plenty of experience there. Time to learn RPO offense, buddy.
