Power Ranking the Browns For Week 5
The five most important Browns as they head to our nation's capitol
Another Sunday, another gut punch of a loss. For the second straight week, the Browns found themselves stuck in neutral against what should be an inferior opponent. And yet, for the second straight week, the Browns found themselves in a one score game in the fourth quarter. But no dice. A loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, a team Davante Adams is desperately trying to get the hell away from, dropped the Browns to 1-3 on the season, and things are getting late early.
With a date with the suddenly ascendant Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders on the docket this weekend, these power rankings have never been more important. Here are the five most important people in (or outside of) the Browns organization as we head into what feels like a must-win game in DC.
5. Nick Chubb
We don’t yet know when, exactly, Nick Chubb will make his season debut. His return to practice means the Browns now have a 21-day window in which to activate him, and that sweet sweet BREAKING NEWS tweet from Ian Rapoport or some other insider announcing it is going to hit like crack.
Until then, just having Chubb taking actual, meaningful reps in the backfield again feels like a huge morale boost for a team desperately searching to feel, well, anything. Outside of a couple of chunk runs, Jerome Ford has basically been any Non Playable Character you see strolling around a video game. D’Onta Foreman might as well not exist. Deshaun Watson wants you to know he is NOT a running quarterback.
So yeah, Chubb’s potential return could not be coming at a better time.
