Silver Lining Performances From Loss To Bengals
We are back to once again highlight those who played well despite the Browns most recent loss against Cincinnati.
We will continue to try to find the silver linings inside of these team performances. It’s small thing that is keeping me somewhat sane. As this season unfolds in the worst way, it remains a small sliver of joy to pick apart the tape for which players are doing their job amidst a team that can’t seem to find that success often enough to win ball games. Sunday in Cleveland was no different as the Browns teetered on the edge of having a shot to win the game but not enough plays were made by the collective.
While the group has now dropped to 1-6 and the outcome on Sunday was not enjoyable there were some strong performances from a select few. Just, again, not enough winning plays were made when it mattered most. Let’s key in on who played well in this one.
David Njoku
I thought the Browns would need to find tight end success in this one to move the ball well and Njoku provided enough opportunities to keep the offense on track. He hauled in 10 of his 14 targets as an underneath threat against drop-heavy coverages and play-action concepts where he releases into the flat. In an offense that needs to find cheap yards, Njoku provides those easily.
The downfield passing game to Njoku is something I would like to see improve, but that sentiment applies to all receiving options at the current time.
