The Browns Are Rarely Big Favorites
Thirteen times since Kevin Stefanski became coach have the Browns been favorites of six points or more. The team is 11-2 in those games.
The Browns have not often been big favorites during Kevin Stefanski’s tenure as head coach. They haven’t been big favorites much over the past 25 years, but we’ll stick with recent history. They’ve been favored by six points or more 13 times since the beginning of 2020. Interestingly, six of the 13 times was in Stefanski’s first year, 2020. The reason why it feels like it’s been relatively few is that seven games as six point favorites over three years is not that many.
The good news is that the Browns have been great in these games. Some teams struggle with motivation in games in which they are heavy favorites, but the Browns have amassed an impressive 11-2 record.
In 2023, they were 2-0 in those situations, shutting out the Cardinals in a game in which they were favored by nearly two touchdowns and clinching their playoff berth with a resounding 17-point win against the Jets as seven-point favorites.
Based purely on statistical trends, Browns fans should have every confidence of a convincing victory Sunday afternoon by the lake.
